Dr. Andrea Burckhard
Andrea (Albertson) Burckhard, DC, was born and raised in Minot, North Dakota. She attended Bishop Ryan High School. She was active in track and field and was a member of the Gymagic and Minot High gymnastics teams. She attended Yale University, where she received her undergraduate degree in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology and was a member of the track and field team. Following college, she worked for a pediatric cardiology nonprofit at the University of Minnesota for two years. Her desire to pursue a career in healthcare led her to Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, where she attained her doctor of chiropractic degree.
Prior to returning to her hometown of Minot, Dr. Burckhard practiced in West Fargo and the Twin Cities. In West Fargo, she worked at a clinic focused on sports injury treatment. During this time, she was a chiropractor for the American Gold Gymnastics Team and Fargo-Moorhead Acro Team. After moving to the Twin Cities, she worked in private practice initially and then took a position with HealthPartners, a medical group. Working in this environment involved integrating chiropractic into a primary care medical setting, a unique opportunity. This experience allowed her to coordinate patient care with a number of other healthcare professionals, including medical doctors, nurse practitioners, physicians’ assistants, and physical therapists.
Dr. Burckhard is certified in Graston Technique, an instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy used to diminish scar tissue from muscular and fascial injuries. For more information on this therapy and treatable conditions, visit the Graston FAQ page on this website or go to www.grastontechnique.com. She also utilizes at-home exercise instruction and kinesiology taping in addition to diversified chiropractic adjusting techniques, including gentle options.
In her free time, Dr. Burckhard enjoys spending time with her husband, three sons, and numerous family members in the Minot area.
